The American Gastroenterological Association, the AGA, this is from a letter that I receive from

a person associated with the AGA, is asking UnitedHealthcare, the insurance provider that

sells Medicare Advantage programs in addition to regular health insurance, is asking them to stop

their, I'm quoting from the letter, current, confusing, advanced notification program that is

draining gastroenterology practices time and staff who have to input data United already has

through claims forms. This is from the letter that the American Gastroenterological Association sent

to UnitedHealthcare. They said AGA is troubled by the serious lack of specific details about the

gold card prior authorization program to date. We less than six months until 2024, UnitedHealthcare

has not, which is when they're going to begin this program. UnitedHealthcare has not issued any

details about eligibility criteria, participation, or what new prior authorization requirements

may be implemented for practices that do not qualify for a gold card. We resolutely oppose the

implementation of any type of preauthorization requirements for colonoscopies and endoscopies.
