The race is on and probably the worst kept secret in Formula One is out.

Sebastian Vettel will join Racing Point next year, or Aston Martin as it will be called,

in place of Sergio Perez as teammate to Lance Stroll.

While it's not a surprise, it's a huge story to see a four-time's world champion head to

what is historically a midfield team, even if its performance is a little better than that.

This year, I'm Ed Shore and joining me to look into the implications of this latest move is Mark Hughes.

Mark, like I say, not a surprise,

but when these announcements finally happen, it is always one of those things you just really want to get into because there's just so many ways this could go. This is what Formula One's all

about, isn't it? Yeah, it's just that moment, isn't it? It's just that critical moment where it

finally clicks into place.

And it is intriguing. And you've got to feel very, very sorry for Sergio Perez, who's done a sterling job there and has been the sacrificial alarm, really. But it's still, that doesn't

change the fact that this is quite an intriguing and probably the

virgin on exciting, I would say, development. So yeah, there's all sorts of questions hanging

in the air now, isn't it looking forward to next year? Well, let's really look at Vettel first.

Obviously, he said that all options are on the table, either retiring, taking a sabbatical,

or moving to another team.

He's obviously gone with the latter. I don't know about you, but I'm really pleased about this

because Vettel, the past few years have been really, really difficult for him, and he's made too

many mistakes. He's warranted some criticism, but we also know there's a very quick racing driver

in there, and it's best. He's driver in there and it's best he's he's

magnificent so i'm personally really pleased that he's having another go at formula one and it's

not going to end in this rather unsatisfactory way surprised that vettler's wanted to carry on or is it
