Why do unqualified people get all of your opportunities?

0:15.5

Ooh, this one can sting, can't it?

0:18.5

Let me tell you the reality here.

0:25.7

Life does not reward your potential. It rewards demonstrated readiness. For example, if two people wanted to be a speaker, one might even be more of a

1:42.7

really, really want arrived tomorrow, two questions for you.

1:48.1

1:55.7

And secondly, where would you feel exposed? Where would you want to hide? This is what I call the readiness gap,

2:04.2

and the way to close that gap is to get busy. There are no two ways around it. Even perhaps the

2:11.7

less qualified speaker is learning how to pitch herself, how to come up with a talk, how to tell a story in a way

2:19.8

that's compelling, how to raise the energy in a room. These are skills that are learned.
