week that we're going to have at least some idea of where border politics is headed

The border is one of these political stalem that voters have yet to be able to resolve.

And I think part of the problem is there really is a case of this is an issue where everybody's talking past each other.

I think you have a case in the Republicans right now, at least the Trump wing,

where they're afraid of losing the issue.

And I've talked to Republican pollsters who will tell me this.

There is nothing that fires up the base, nothing that gets them out to vote, nothing that

creates urgency in voting on the right than the immigration issue and the border

issue. And without it, there is some fear among some Republicans that somehow without the urgency of

fear of what's happening at the border that the intensity of the Trump

voter will wane and that in turn drags the party down.

I throw that out there because let's be realistic here.

You know, politically both Biden and Trump are acting quite rationally when it comes to this

border negotiation that's going on in Congress. You've got Biden who has decided to say

yes to pretty much anything James Langford's asking for. James Langford the

Republican from Oklahoma,

who are the lead Republican on this. He's part of the governing wing of the

Republican Party. I think one of the things that I've loved about this

border dispute is that it's the easiest way to find out if a Republican is interested in

governing or interested in political theater, right? You know, it's quite obvious.
