Dr. Berg talks about the Mediterranean Diet or the so-called “Heart Healthy” diet. This diet is composed of fruits, vegetables, olive oil, whole grain, red wine, moderate red meat, moderate fish and poultry, and low-fat dairy. There’s a study that includes 7,447 participants and a diet that is composed of three separate groups. 


• Group 1: Mediterranean diet consumes 4 tsp. olive oil

• Group 2: Mediterranean diet consume mixed nuts

• Group 3: Traditional low-fat diet 


Points: 

1. There’s no such thing is a standard Mediterranean diet. Different countries in these regions consume different diets. 

2. Only statistically significant in men 

3. Only statistically significant for reducing strokes -  decrease 30% 

4. No difference in mortality 

5. Lots of these people were on medications

So I had another question posed on my opinion on the Mediterranean diet,
