I remember as a child, teachers saying to us, there is no such thing as a dumb question.

I'm not certain.

I'm not certain that's true.

But I do believe that questions grow out of our own experience.

You have to view a man and view his questions in his context.

Everybody's going through something, everybody's dealing with something,

and sometimes we're working through things in our own mind and we're trying to get clarity,

and that's where questions come from.

And whatever the question, that question must be brought to God.

In a sense, every question is rooted in ignorance.

There's something we don't know and only the truth of Scripture can give us real wisdom.

Today we're returning to current questions and Bible

answers. We have looked at a cultural question. We have looked at a doctrinal question. Let's look

at a very practical question today. Aren't you glad the Word of God is practical? That the

Lord helps us to know how to live every day, the Christian life.

This question has been asked, why should we ask others to pray for us if we can pray for

ourselves? The reality is we can pray for ourselves. But it is also true that in Scripture,

we are commanded to pray for one another. Let's begin with the most basic answer to this

question before we get into the why and say, because it is commanded. The scripture plainly bears this out.

James chapter 5, verse number 16 says, confess your faults one to another and pray one for another that you may be healed.

The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
