Today's guest is Dr. Steven Snyder.

He's an associate clinical professor of psychiatry at the Icon School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.

Dr. Snyder has been in private practice in Manhattan for almost two decades, specializing

in sex and relationship issues.

He's also the author of Love Worth Making.

Everybody has this sense because, you know, we have clothes, our bodies are covered up.

Sex is never done in public, and nobody really knows.

And so people's imaginations go wild, and they think everybody else is having much better

sex than they are.

And everybody else is good in their bed, which is a natural human shame response.

Our chief content officer, Elise Loonon, sat down with Dr. Snyder to talk about the feelings

behind sex and why so many people seem disconnected.

They also dispel some myths about intimacy and long-term relationships, and cover the

different ways that he sees men and women approaching desire.

You have to get over the idea that all arousal has to lead to orgasm, and that all arousal

has to lead to sex, because a lot of couples treat arousal like it's some kind of painful

state of being.
