It's Friday, November 7th, 20. Let's get into the mix. Here are

your Washington headlines of the day. Number one, the latest in the shutdown. No end in sight,

but a lot of movement happening. Number two, Senator Chris Murphy joined us on flyout day, what he

had to say. And number three, what's next in California post-Prop 50?

All right, Jake, let's get to it. This was a big week for the government shutdown. We are now in the longest government shutdown in history.

And while there had been some early momentum of kind of both sides talking,

feeling like there might be an end in sight, Tuesday's election for Democrats really hard

in their position. They had a multi-hour caucus meeting yesterday. And there's a real appetite on

the left, certainly by some progressive, to say, like, this is not the time to cave.

They're saying they're unified, but there's also a lot of Democrats who are trying to find

an off ramp here.

Well, what's the saying, right?

There's a lot of motion, but not movement.

And I understand that view because you had the president come out this week and say,

this is hurting Republicans worse than it's hurting Democrats.
