Hi, my name is Pete Gazzaro. I want to welcome you today at the Emotionally Healthy Leader

podcast. Great to be with you. The title of today's podcast is Why Overturning Tables is a

matter of life and death. I'm going to be sharing a message from this tremendous text of

scripture found in Mark 11 when Jesus actually goes into the

temple of Jerusalem and starts overturning tables. Now, I've been studying the gospel of Mark

for the past three to four months in my morning prayer times, and I have found myself stopped

by God on this text because of all that's in it and around it. I mean, there's just so much here.

I mean, Jesus comes to Jerusalem and the place he goes to is the temple where God dwells in the

Holy of Holy, the place where people come from all over the world or are meant to come from all over

the world to meet God. And he doesn't go to Rome to meet with the emperor.

He doesn't go to the Senate. He doesn't go to the buildings of political power in Jerusalem

or to Herod's palace. He goes to the temple. And why? Because, I mean, aren't there greater

issues happening in the world than what's happening within these four walls of a this incredible

religious building and the answer is no there is nothing greater in the world happening

the temple and now that the church the church is the most important institution in the world

the most important place in the world is the church. That's why judgment in Ezekiel

mind begins at the sanctuary of God. The church has a prophetic calling. We have a prophetic

destiny. We're meant to be a taste of heaven for the world. That's why you are so important

and our churches are so important, our ministries, and there's so much warfare that goes on

around the church. But Jesus

walks into the temple and he is appalled. He sees the business going on. And while the temple is

magnificent externally on the outside, it's not bearing any fruit. And he knows it's meant to be a
