I may have already misspoken, which is quite an achievement, considering it's only four minutes after 10.

And the programme hasn't even started properly.

Technically, the bit I say at the end of Nick's show counts as Nick's show.

So if, for example, you wanted to submit a complaint to Offcom about something I say in that talk-up,

it would be a complaint about Nick Ferrari's show, I think, not about mine. I don't know that we should talk about

escalation. I got an early message on Blue Sky, the social media platform that seems to be

gathering pace at a rate of knots at the moment.

And it just pointed out that self-defense, from Alan, self-defense cannot be escalatory in the

intended sense, Alan Colhoun, who is a philosopher and author.

And it stopped me a bit.

It's nice to be on a social media site where you can

actually see the sensible and intelligent contributions clearly without having them drown in a

sea of idiocy. But I understand what it means. And yet I don't understand what it means,

which is always a good starting point for our time together in the morning. It is self-defense. So Russia invaded Ukraine, thinking, it's probably worth

a quick reminder that the Ukrainian regime would buckle in the course of a weekend. I mean, Vladimir Putin

was certainly not expecting to be there a thousand days later. I don't think he was expecting,

I beg it, pardon, to be fighting a thousand days later. I don't think he was expecting, I beg it pardon, to be fighting a thousand days later. I don't think he was expecting to be

fighting 10 days later, apart perhaps from sort of guerrilla warfare or some pockets of resistance.

All the expert analysis tells us that he expected, the Russians expected Kiev to buckle under the weight of the

Russian offensive. And spoiler alert, it didn't. So that's an invasion. That is, you know, by any

available definition of the freight, an act of war or whatever you want to call it. And then Ukraine's business of resistance becomes confined to Ukrainian soil by, as I understood it,
