When I lived in New York, someone said to me once,

I can tell you're not from New York before you even open your mouth,

because you look too happy.

I actually took that as a real compliment.

What a blessing it is to be a happy person in a world that doesn't always encourage your happiness.

Am I right?

Would you say the majority of people are walking around looking happy?

You know, sometimes I think people ask the question, why are you so happy or why are you smiling?

And the response I want to give is why not? In fact that's always

almost like my rebuttal not with defense but with a loving curious like laugh

perhaps you know well why not why not be happy you know I think that

whenever we ask someone why we're curious right there's something that we want to

know there's information there. information there.

And sometimes there doesn't have to be a deep reason.

There doesn't have to be a reason at all.

But I think if the person who wins at life is the person who gets the most out of it and enjoys it,

right, the core purpose of our life is to enjoy it, then why not? Why not choose my

happiness each day? I remember when I was 18 and I was pretty new living in Australia for my gap year
