Three minutes after ten is the time, and it is not the most important element of the conversation

that we are about to have, not by a long chalk, but given some of the calls we took earlier

in the week, I do find myself wondering whether Kemi Badenock this morning is comfortable with

Brianna Jai being afforded her preferred pronouns even in death.

Some pause for thought there, actually.

Mrs. Justice Yip today decides whether or not two teenagers who were 15 at the time of this crime should be named, whether you should know their name.

Brianna was stabbed 28 times by a girl and a boy whom she believed to be her friends

and who had, in fact, as the court had been plotting her murder for weeks.

She was lured under false pretenses to an area of woodland near her home in Cheshire, just outside Warrington.

And I don't need to go into much more detail.

You will almost certainly be aware of what happened next.

It took the jury four hours and 40 minutes to decide that the killers who sought to blame each other for the

killing were both guilty.

I never know how much, excuse me, I never know how much to read into reports like this,

the report that neither teenager showed any visible reaction to the verdicts, because it's

such an extraordinary situation.

I don't know that imagining how you would behave in the same circumstances is particularly helpful. But it is one of those cases that you feel almost compelled to look away from. You really do, five minutes after ten is the time,

and you really can't. So the question, here's the thing, right? Just bear with me for a moment.

I do, I've, my job is to have opinions, right? And the luckiest element of my job is the fact that I don't have to

pretend anything. Every single opinion I've ever shared with you is genuine. I've changed my

mind about stuff, but I never have to argue something different from what I actually believe.
