It's hard for us to be vulnerable when we're in a survival state.

What I see with men is when they get a little appreciation,

even though they might not be doing it right,

if they just feel that their partners are appreciating the effort,

it starts to downregulate them.

They start to relax, which opens them up.

Because here's the bottom line.

When a guy feels like he's not performing well in his relationship, he's in a stress state.

He's a viable state.

So it's going to be real hard for him to be vulnerable.

Just over the natural progression, what we've had developed is that the model for how men

are emotional, how we connect to ourselves, how we connect to others, is really sort of been skewed

towards more of a feminine model, which is not a bad model, but it's not the intrinsic model
