Summary

Have you ever walked through something hard—maybe a tragedy, a really heavy season, or even just a stretch where you’re juggling more than you can carry—and someone looks at you and says, “Let me know if you need anything”?

You smile. You say thank you. You mean it. And they mean it!!! But deep down, you already know… you’re not going to let them know. Not because you couldn’t use the help but because you don’t even know what you need. And even if you did, you’re not sure you have the energy to explain it, ask for it, or coordinate it.

There are moments in life when everything feels heavier than usual. Not always in ways you can explain—just an undercurrent of restlessness that swirls in your chest, a mental fog you can’t quite clear, a weight you’ve learned how to carry without naming. And in those moments, something in you goes quiet—not because you don’t feel cared for, but because you don’t feel met.

0:32.9

And then sometimes I get so tired of hearing myself say that, you know what I mean?

0:38.5

But a lot of people that I care about, too, are walking through some really hard things.

0:45.2

And so I am someone who have a hard time.

0:48.1

You know, they say, like, you can care, but you really can't carry it.

0:50.9

Like, you can help shoulder that.

0:53.3

That's what scripture says and shoulder those

0:55.2

burdens. I know we're already jumping in the deep end. But you can't carry it yourself and taking on

1:01.1

that weight. And so a lot of times Will will be like, hey, you're doing it. Like you're picking up

1:06.4

something. And, you know, we already have the weight of best of life. And then we add the weight.

1:11.9

And then we can actually execute and help other people. It kind of makes us ineffective.

1:16.9

And so anyway, all in saying that, life has felt just like a little bit more fragile and just reminded

1:23.5

of the brevity of life, you know, which is wisdom, helpful, like we need that.

1:28.4

But with saying that, and I don't mean that doom and gloom, that's just this side of heaven,

1:33.5

honestly, that is life until we get him to be with Jesus.

1:38.7

And so in thinking about that, it's really brought up this topic that I wanted to address because I've

1:46.0

talked to a lot of friends about it and in different seasons that I've walked through myself

1:50.1

where things have been hard or just honestly it's even a season of, you know, unmet expectations
