0:09.8	leader podcast. Our title, our theme as we launch into 2025 is why leaders must adopt a radical

0:23.3	leaders must adopt a radical rule of life for 2025. Now, the church is facing massive challenges
0:31.0	as the culture and the world around us continues to go through upheavals and significant changes. Uh, everything from,
0:40.8	uh, new technologies to artificial intelligence and the impact is going to have on a,
0:45.4	on the global economy and the global culture. The institution of marriage and family and
0:50.4	sexuality and gender is under a significant, uh,, like really never before in my lifetime.
0:58.1	There's political upheavals and polarization going on worldwide.
1:01.9	And then, of course, there's wars and failed states and economic instabilities.
1:07.9	And along with that, social media, more and more people in our churches are consuming what I
1:13.8	like to call sometimes to use Eugene Peterson's words, ecclesiastical pornography, and getting
1:19.7	their feeding more from social media than actually human beings in a local setting.
1:25.1	So Jesus talked about in Matthew 24 at the end of time that we would hear,
1:28.8	we would hear of wars and rumors of wars. And he says, don't be alarmed. And such things must happen.
1:34.9	But the end is still to come. And then he talks about nation rising up against nation,
1:40.1	earthquakes and famines. He goes, but all these are just the beginnings of birth pangs.
1:44.6	And so Jesus invites us to a theological sanity, an emotional stability in the midst of
1:50.4	a world with lots of terror and fear as things appear so unstable. And Jesus is assuring us saying,
1:56.4	the world's not unstable at all. I am very much on the throne with the Lord God Almighty. And he puts
2:01.9	actually the world's birth pangs in a positive framework about, you know, something new is ahead
2:07.4	and something new is coming and being birth. And so at the same time, he talks about in Matthew 24,
