Hello savvy painters today I want to talk to you about something that has been coming

up often with the artist that I coach and that is this feeling that creative time is not as

important as some of the other things that you have going on in your life.

And so when that happens, the artist will feel guilty or

selfish for being in the studio painting when there are so many other

important things that need their intention.

This shows up in so many different ways and it is so prevalent so I wanted to talk about it in this

episode and talk about why that happens and some of the ways that we can think about that

differently so that it doesn't impact our art and our creative time so very much.

So some of the ways that this thought process shows up

is in how artists are feeling about their creative time.

They say things like, I feel guilty taking time away from my family

to create art.

I feel so selfish when I'm painting instead of doing something for my family.

I feel like I should always help when somebody asks.

So some people say things like my studios next to my kitchen

to wash the dishes in the sink
