I'm going to go to the book of Philippians,

Philippians and chapter four,

and we're going to begin reading in verse six.

I'd like to title this message today, this talk,

why I'm going to talk to God more in 2018. Why I'm going to talk to God

more in 2018. Now you don't have to talk to God more in 2018. I'm just telling you I'm

gonna talk to God more in 2018. There's no pressure for you to talk to God more in

2018. I just hope that there's passion for you to talk to God more in 2018.

God wants to talk to you more in 2018. I mean you had your moments with God in 2017

but he wants to make your moments in 2018 even better.

Philippians!

Speaking of the narrative in the story, the Book of Philippians actually, it finds its place in the story of

scripture as essentially a thank you letter for money.

That's actually why we have the Book of Philippians. The believers in Philippi are basically a recipients of a letter

where Paul, who has helped establish the community there in Philippi under the rule of Rome,

they were so impacted by Paul and so had heard of further needs.

Paul essentially is on a tour of the known world,

telling people about Jesus, his grace, his goodness,

and the forgiveness that only he offers.

And so the believers in Philip,

I hear about his needs to travel and get on ships and go from islands and spaces and places
