New York Giants Football Podcast. I'm Dan Schneier. Join, as always my co-host, Nick Falado. A little bit late, about two hours after the news broke. Unfortunately, I have worked that I could not put off. But I'm doing a little bit of hooky right now. Let's just keep that on the down low because I did want to record a podcast with breaking news that the New York football giants have a new general manager in place.

Now, this is exciting news to just about anyone at this stage of their Giants fandom.

I think we've reached a point even last year where the final, and there were still a strong

contingent of Gettleman defenders going into the 2021 season.

But obviously that broke.

I mean, once you go, what was it, three, three and ten for the first every year of his

gym hood.

You get to the point where everyone's off that bandwagon and everyone's looking for something

new and something exciting. And I think Joe Shane's looking for something new and something exciting.

And I think Joe Shane can be that something new and something exciting.

I think everything I've read about him, everything I've heard about him and everything I heard about everyone they interviewed in this GM process, got me excited for the mere fact that it's going to be something different, a lot different than what Dave Gettleman offered and brought to the New York Giants over these last four years. And what Dave Gettelman brought to these giants was really bad, man. Let's be honest about it. He took us to depths that we never thought were possible. This franchise is arguably the worst in the NFL last year. And that never, I never thought that could ever happen. And so hopefully Shane can fix it. Hopefully Shane can write the ship.
