Hey, listen, we're talking about healing, sickness, and suffering today.

You guys know the ones of you that love the banter and the ones of you that don't love the banter know that this is insert banter right here. But because of the nature of the topic, it just doesn't feel right to just kind of come in and, you know, for me to make some dumb joke about something dumb and then try to shift the conversation real quickly. It is something that really is serious. And this has touched to all of us. I mean, the three of us, J.T. Jen and myself and everyone listening have been really touched by this. So I'm just going to skip over the silly banter for today's episode. If you do need to check that box, just go back to the previous episode and you can just get it all out right there. This whole season, we are dealing with tricky topics and questions.

We're not really looking for hot takes.

That is true of all the episodes, particularly true of this one.

We'd rather learn how to think theologically about everything, even what is controversial

and pragmatic.

Today, we are asking, why doesn't God always heal the sick? Why doesn't God always heal the sick?

And the last year, all three of us have seen people we love die. We've had people we love get sick,

get terrible diagnoses. So this is, we know it's not abstract for anyone, anywhere. It's not

abstract for you as a listener. And I can tell you, this is not abstract for us as like conversation partners.

We've felt this.

We've experienced this.

And that's not the whole of what we have to say about it.

We do think the Bible does speak to these matters.

And it's an important question to ask.

But it's not a question that we can ask with

like a sterile or a clinical distance. It does feel up close. And you don't have to live much life
