Three minutes after ten is the time.

A very good morning indeed to you, and I hope that you find yourself in splendid fettle on this Thursday.

We will, I hope, be doing Mystery Hour from 12 today, events allowing.

And before that, with no prizes for guessing what will be concerning us probably

a little bit of Trump and a little bit of lockdown or probably more lockdown than

Trump actually um the way things stand and the way I'm feeling we'll keep a very very close eye on

developments in the United States of America but um I think we'll wait for actual events, actual facts, to emerge.

With a couple of exceptions, there's a few things I will share with you more in a sense of wonder and disbelief

than in a sense of revelation or reporting.

But I've been thinking a lot about you since yesterday. I've been thinking a lot

about the conversation that we had and that it appeared remarkably popular isn't quite the

right word I wanted, but many, many, many people. We got the question dead right yesterday

is what I'm sort of dancing around suggesting because it may sound immodest and

the question was why would they in the context of chris witty and patrick valence that the notion that

they are seeking to bamboozle or mislead or or deceive the population which is the argument the

daily mail has been making all week.

This notion of why would they, I found fascinating and incredibly revealing.

And the more I thought about it, and the more I listened to some of the, should we say, the more, or read, some of the more blowhardy commentary,

by which I mean people who like to make powerful emotional points, usually involving

a putative or a potential flashpoint to fight, oh, the other lot, can't bear them.

They seem to be acting in a fashion that's even more dishonest and disingenuous than usual,

because what you might call lockdown skepticism or people questioning the wisdom
