Well, howdy? All right. Hey, it's great to see you whether this is your first time or your last time or somewhere

in between at Breakaway.

We're so glad that you made it tonight.

And if you were with us last week, then you know that we're talking about the dash of our lives.

At some point, you're going to have a gravestone that's going to have your

birth date, and then there's going to be a dash, and then there's going to be your expiration date.

And you can kind of think from now what that might be, the average lifespan of a human being,

is about 80 years, and so you can kind of calculate the length of your life but where you are

at right now in life is you are somewhere in the midst of that one little dash between your

birth date and your expiration date and we have no clue how far into our dashes we are

some of us are a fourth of the way through or a half a way through and some of

us are three-fourths of the way through. We just have no clue where we're at in our dashes.

But one of the most important questions that you can ask and get an answer to is, why does

my dash even exist?

This is your first time at Breakway.

We're in the midst of this series this semester,

where we're taking an in-depth look at the first three chapters of the Bible,

Genesis 1 through 3,

and we're in this series that we're calling why.
