Why do Oneness Pentecostals emphasize Acts 238 so much?

We're going to talk about that on today's episode of Apostolic Life in the 21st century.

Dr. Bernard, I was raised in a Oneness Pentecostal church. I thank God for that.

And the first verse that I ever remember memorizing was Acts 238. I've had the privilege of raising my two children, who are now teenagers, in a Oneness Pentecostal church. And I think that the first scripture they ever memorized was Acts 238. I think that anybody who's been part of a Oneness Pentecostal church would say

that's likely been their experience as well, which begs the question, why do Oneness Pentecostals

emphasize Acts 238 so much? Well, that's a great question. Maybe we need to define or

describe what Acts 238 is. Let me just

actually quote it. Then Peter said unto them, repent and be baptized every one of you in the name

of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost or the Holy Spirit.

I'm so on this Pentecostal. I assumed everybody knew it.
