Moment of Um comes to you from APM Studios. I'm Anna Weigel.

Um.

Being a mom to a two-year-old is really, really fun, especially when she says things like, for sure,

when I ask her a question, or when she says, ding-dong, for some reason when we cheers our

milk, or when she plays Chase with her dad laughing hysterically the whole time, or when she says,

go to sleep, mommy, you're so tired. Even though it's the most fun, it takes just about every cell in my body

to keep her healthy, happy, occupied, clothed, fed, pottyed, and smiling. So I'm having a really

hard time wrapping my head around how I'm going to do a good job taking care of her next year

when her little brother arrives. Do you have a younger sibling or have you been around babies? They are helpless. Just like

little warm, needy lumps. But I know how much a heart can expand when you meet your kid. You're

ready to do anything for them. So what's going to happen when a second kid comes on the scene?

And how am I going to be

able to explain it to my toddler? I wonder if my buddy Leo was an older sibling himself because he

asked about this too. Let's figure this out together, Leo. My name is Leo. I'm from Columbus, Ohio,

and my question is, why do grown-ups give more attention to babies and kids?

I think that that's a great question.

With young children, babies and toddlers, we shouldn't ignore them because they're learning at an early age how the world responds to them.
