Why did that teacher get fired from your school? My freshman basketball coach, who was also a

freshman football coach, got his 18-year-old senior girlfriend pregnant. Next year, the varsity basketball

coach paid for all the basketball costs with his company and took all the fundraising money

as reimbursement. People were not happy. This isn't so much why he got fired, but what he did when he got fired.

So, a male teacher at my high school, call him Mr. M. Mr. M had worked at my high school for 30-plus years.

He taught my eldest sister, even, who is now in her 40s. He was like a founder of the place, in his own mind anyway.

Mr. M, who has always been a long-time council member,

so the community has always held him in high regard, minus his students. Ask anyone who has been

taught by this man any time over those 30 years, and they will all tell you that he is the most

dirty, sexist, racist, misogynistic slime ball you'll ever meet. Examples. Witnessed him tell a 15-year-old

girl her legs go all the way up. Witnessed him force a dyslexic kid in our class to read aloud,

laugh at him, then ask if he was mentally impaired. Witnessed him tell a kid from a low-income

family that he could never afford the shoes he was wearing. Dude used to always wear really, really

short shorts and sit with his legs wide open, so there was that imagery. I'm sure many of my

classmates were exposed to. Anyway, it was 2015, I think, maybe 2014. The government announced

a few budget cuts here and there, and a few schools across the country were affected. My school

was one of them,

and in turn had to fire two teachers. One teacher was retiring at the end of the year anyway,

so they put their hand up to take one of the positions. But there was still one more teacher

that needed to be let go of. After months of delegation, kids complaining about all of their

least favorite teachers, you name it, it was decided that Mr. M was to be let go.

His work mostly focused on the council anyway, and he had reduced his teaching hours to part-time, so it made sense.
