Summary

Here's something that's been on my mind a lot lately: We're constantly bombarded with tips and tricks on how to do more, more more, but what if all that productivity gibberish actually misses the mark?

In this episode, I share what I believe is more powerful than optimizing our productive output. In fact, when I think about the biggest leaps in my career, it's not a result of how many to do's of crossed off the list. It's actually been from one simple practice.

Enjoy!

What's up, friends? It's your buddy Chase for another micro show here. And I want to get

0:07.4

something clear. You know that productivity gibberish you read in your social feeds every day?

0:12.8

I think it's a waste of time. 95% of it that is a waste of time because it's it's basically

become an institution now with deals with the symptoms of a problem

0:55.8

and a set of actions that will actually lead to you unleashing your creative power, achieving

1:09.3

some of these true dreams that you have in life.

1:14.2

Regularly practicing your creative craft or your hobby or your career, whatever it is

1:19.1

that you care deeply about, that's just one part of the story, it turns out.

1:24.8

For every aspect of discipline focus on your primary pursuit, whatever your goal in

1:29.5

life is, whether that's your knowledge of light for photography or technique for blacksmithing

1:35.3

or color theory for painting, I don't care what it is, there's a need for and a benefit to

1:41.2

staying creatively nimble in a very broad sense of the word as well.

1:47.6

For example, even though photography has long been my primary area of focus, I would say of

1:53.0

mastery, I practice a daily habit of creating something outside, something beyond photography

1:59.3

every day.
