Summary

EP577. Confidence isn’t about being louder, bolder, or more motivated, it’s about being less driven by everything outside of you.

In this solo episode, Renee breaks down why so many women (especially moms) feel stuck, burnt out, and second-guessing themselves, and how living life motivated by approval, guilt, comparison, and external pressure quietly erodes confidence over time.

Renee shares tangible, real-life shifts you can start implementing right now to build self-trust, stop over-explaining, and move through life with more calm, clarity, and confidence, even in the chaos of motherhood. This episode isn’t about doing more or becoming someone new. It’s about unlearning what’s keeping you disconnected from yourself.

If you’re tired of chasing validation, managing everyone else’s expectations, or feeling like your confidence depends on how you’re perceived, this conversation is for you.

Welcome to the mom room. I made it into the basement to record audio and visual.

0:12.4

Wait, yeah, audio and video. Why did I say visual?

0:16.8

Anyways, here I am. I have like half a voice, but I made it. And this is usually the time of day where I start to lose all my energy. But here we are. I was like, my husband and Milo are going to be home in probably an hour-ish. So I was like, okay, I'm going to run downstairs. I'm going to record before I shower and do all the other things that I could do while they're home.

0:40.4

When they're home, it's a little bit loud and you never know what's going to happen.

0:44.1

I was trying to figure out what to talk about today.

0:47.1

And then I was like, duh, Renee, it is so obvious.

0:50.2

I have been talking so much online about confidence and being confident and not letting people

0:57.1

walk all over you and standing up for yourself, so on and so forth. And so many people have

1:02.7

sent me messages. Like, thank you so much for, first of all, the content about this topic,

1:08.7

but also just how I handle things and how I navigate like people

1:14.6

saying mean things to me online and all the shitty things that tend to come with being an

1:20.9

influencer, which also I think people can relate to in their everyday lives as well. Obviously, for us, it's like a more public

1:30.6

thing, but I'm sure people in their friend groups, in their like workplace, experience similar kinds of

1:39.5

things. And so often women are told to just let it go, move on, like, don't worry about it.

1:49.9

Don't let it be a thing.

1:51.6

And that's always pissed me off, like my entire life.

1:54.7

Like I've been in some situations where, you know, like really not high up situations,

2:00.8

but situations where I was having an

2:03.1

issue with someone who was in like the hierarchy of academia or the workplace was higher up than I was.

2:12.3

And I would get so frustrated because advice from other people would just be like, yeah, like, I don't think

2:19.1

there's anything you can do. Like, it's probably not worth it. Like, just, you know, let it go. And
