On today's show, we're talking about the NFL draft. I think it's a good time on the calendar to take stock of where prospects are rated and who some of the realistic possibilities are for the New York Jets when they pick second overall and 16th overall

in the upcoming NFL draft. We are approaching the Senior Bowl, which is another big milestone.

So it's a good barometer to see where prospects currently are. And a number of prominent

members of the media have recently published mock drafts. So it's a good chance to take a look

at what the Jets options are and talk about how good these options are.

We'll begin by talking about Mel Kuiper Jr., the longtime NFL draft expert for ESPN,

who just this week put out a mock draft, which has the Jets picking Ohio State linebacker Arvel Reese second overall

and Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson's 16th overall.

We talked a little bit about Ty Simpson on yesterday's show, how I would not be surprised to see him rise up the draft

board to potentially be an option for the Jets at 16 or even higher. I don't think you can rule out

some team being desperate enough to draft Ty Simpson in the top 10. Quarterbacks tend to rise this time of a year.

It's a supply and demand issue.

I think it's fair to say that the Kuiper scenario with reset two and Simpson at 16 is about as high risk, high reward as it gets.

And I have to tell you that I would not be crazy about either pick at this point in time

while acknowledging the upside with these picks.
