quarterbacks who could interest the Jets this off season. There are three categories for these

quarterbacks. There are the veterans who have a lot of experience. There are the players who are a

couple of years into their careers, but have potential upside. And there are reclamation projects.

We'll talk about all three categories.

Now, I think it's clear that the Jets are going to bring in a veteran quarterback this offseason.

That's true whether or not they pick a quarterback early in the NFL draft. If the Jets do select a

quarterback in the first or maybe the second rounds, they're still going to want to have a veteran

around, you know, the classic mentor role, but also, I don't think the Jets are going to want to put themselves in the position where a quarterback they draft has to start on day one. We've seen that over and over with the Jets. Mark Sanchez started on day one. Gino Smith started on day one. Sam Darnold started on day one. Zach Wilson started on day one. In some of those cases, it was by design. In some cases, like Gino Smith, you know, quarterback got, the quarterback was supposed to be the starter got injured in preseason and the rookie was pressed into the starting lineup. But I don't think the Jets are going to want to leave themselves without an option for a veteran quarterback to start week one.

And of course, if the Jets don't draft a quarterback early this year, well, they're going to need someone to start for the full season. So we're going to have to take a look at the veteran market. And if we're going to be honest, there are not a lot of great options. just like there were not a lot of great options last year.
