Aaron lives in Maine with her husband who is an Episcopal priest which means that Aaron lives

and paints in the church rectory and her studio looks out onto a cemetery.

Aaron's work, much like Aaron herself, is filled with joy, humor, the trials of life, and an internal faith in the future.

Her current obsession is with the Children's book illustrator Alice Provenson.

Aaron is using Provenson's book illustrations as a springboard for her large six foot by six foot paintings.

These paintings are a playground for Aaron.

She gets to experiment with mark baking and color, with

working big and painting alligators on strings. When I spoke with Aaron, she was just

a few days shy of her one-year anniversary of being diagnosed with breast cancer.

Aaron shares what that year was like and how this past year has made her even more determined

to just have fun. After what she's gone through, she wants to laugh, bring

people joy, and share her gratitude. In this episode we talk about how art can

heal, raised spirits, and educate people who are experiencing

traumatic health issues. Aaron is a storyteller and she is not shy at all

about sharing what she's been going through. She talks candidly about the procedure she

went through and how she used art and her sense of humor to get through all of it. As

some of you may know, my niece is fighting hard against stomach cancer.
