It is three minutes after 10 and you are listening to James O'Brien on LBC.

It's a funny day today. There is currently no story, I would argue, completely demanding our attention.

The 10 o'clock on this show is a bit like the front page of a newspaper. It's usually the biggest issue before us. Not necessarily the most important story,

but the most talkable, the one that is most likely to excite an interesting exchange of

stories or views or on a good day a little bit of both. And I don't think, this isn't, I don't

want to have a row if you think there is a story that is out

in a way in front of all the others, I'm not arguing with you. I'm just telling you I'm not,

I'm not in the same place as you. So I'm looking at France. I'm looking at over a million people

taking to the streets in France in protest at the retirement age being raised to a couple of

years below where we are now. I just just thought that was comical, really.

I mean, there's nothing comical about riots and setting fire to town halls and things like that.

But talk about cultural differences.

I mean, the nature of that protest being such that, you know, we've got a government in this

country that wants to clamp down on protests that are nowhere near as violent as French

protests can traditionally be. It's just, it just struck me as a morning for comparison. So we may

get onto that a little later. I'm haunted by this Ofsted story and the tale of the teacher who took her own

life in

there is never one reason for

such a tragic

event but certainly

it would appear that the

pressure of an offsted inspection
