Oh, do you know, that's been a weird week, hasn't it? Some mornings. It's been a little bit, not slim pickings necessarily,

all sorts of, we've almost forgotten what we used to do back in the day. And so as much of the

news agenda, obviously, it's very important to continue reporting the facts.

Most obviously this morning, I think the facts of what can and cannot be contained within any trade agreement between, say, the UK and Japan is genuinely fascinating and entirely at odds with what some members of the government and indeed the right wing media might be telling you. But you have to acknowledge before doing this that the culture war side of the

Brexit debate is comprehensively and categorically over and my lot lost. It's an absolute

bedrock of certainty on that. It seems pointless for anybody to pretend otherwise.

And I haven't seen anybody on the losing side pretend otherwise, but there are a few people

on the winning side who perhaps are beginning to wonder precisely what it is they've won

and therefore need to keep the fires of division burning in order to persuade themselves that their victory is contained within the unhappiness of people who think that they're going to be hurt by what they voted to do.
