Dr. Berg explains why a diabetic MUST understand insulin. Insulin lowers blood sugar and if your blood sugar is 100 or less, do not take insulin because it could cause hypoglycemia or low blood sugar to the point where you become literally stupid or almost likely unconscious or unaware. Doing a healthy ketogenic diet and intermittent fasting will naturally lower your blood sugar and the need for insulin is going down. Too much insulin in the body will lower blood sugar and too much sugar in the body is toxic. It is the frequency of eating and the amount of carbohydrate in the diet that is keeping you in the need for insulin.
