Summary

When we hear the word disciple, we usually think of those who followed Jesus when He walked the earth. However, all faithful followers of Christ across time and space are His disciples and are called to disciple others. But what makes a true disciple? For, we know that not everyone who calls Jesus Lord will enter the Kingdom of heaven (see Matthew 7:21). In his four-part series Whose Disciple?, Dr. Michael Youssef dives into Scripture to uncover what it means to be a true disciple of Jesus and how true disciples can carry out Christ’s Great Commission.

0:33.1	The discussion was and began by a lawyer was trying to quiz Jesus.
0:40.3	This lawyer wanted to know what kind of life could he live in order that he may earn eternal life.
0:49.3	You see, always thinking of earning eternal life.
0:52.3	First Jesus quoted the scriptures. We saw that in the last
0:55.9	message, loving like Jesus, and why it was a new command that Jesus said love one another as I have
1:03.8	loved you. But Jesus quoted the Old Testament, and he said, you shall love the Lord your God with all your
1:08.8	heart, et cetera, and then love your neighbor as yourself. But lawyers, you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, etc. And then love your neighbor as yourself.
1:13.3	But lawyers, you have to understand, they're very practical people.
1:17.5	They're very practical.
1:18.8	They're down to earth.
1:20.4	This lawyer wanted to know how this loving God and your neighbors actually work in day-to-day life. How are you going to live it?
1:31.0	It's one thing to recite it and it's called the Shama in Hebrew language and they will say,
1:36.9	oh, here, Israel, the Lord is God is one God, and love the Lord of the Lord of the Lord. And they'll just rattle it every day, literally.
1:43.3	But this man really wants to do,
1:45.0	how does this work in my daily life?
