In this case, the threat is the Marburg virus now spreading in Africa.

In the past, case fatality rates have varied from 24% to 88%, which contrasts with a 1.1% COVID-19 mortality rate in the U.S.

The virus can spread from contaminated surfaces and materials, as well as through direct contact
