It is not a status we sit in — it is a process we walk through! Dating exists for the purpose of evaluating whether or not you are supposed to run alongside a person for the rest of your life. In the process of evaluation, Pastor Ben challenges us to consider how we view dating: do we look at it with a consumer mentality or a companion mentality?

0:20.0	Well, I remember the first time I ever walked into Kyle Field, the football stadium at Texas A&M,
0:27.0	farmers fight, I was a freshman there and arriving, but I knew very little about the school.
0:33.0	So I remember as when I was first walking to the stadium,
0:35.0	I was peppering my upperclassmen roommates with questions,
0:38.0	like, why are we going to the football stadium Friday night
0:41.0	when the game's not till Saturday and why are thousands of
0:44.7	us filing in at midnight what's going on here and they said well this is called
0:49.2	yell practice this is where we go and we practice all the yells that we're going to yell tomorrow during the game.
0:56.1	I remember I was like, I always thought those kind of came naturally like we got to practice those and they were like yes
1:01.3	because at a and m we all yell the exact same thing in
1:04.2	unison and when we do that it confuses and scares our opponents. I was like that
1:09.2	makes sense I understand that. They're like yeah so we're gonna all give in the
1:12.2	stadium we're gonna all
1:13.2	practice our yells for a few minutes, and then when that's done,
1:16.5	they're gonna turn off all the lights,
1:18.0	and you're gonna make out with the person you brought.
1:20.3	And I was like, I'm sorry, what?
1:23.0	Like suddenly this description took an odd turn.
