749, 15th Street, Boulder, Colorado marked the side of a house beautifully decorated for the holiday season.

As Santa in his sleigh sat perched along the stone pavement,

candy canes lined the pathway to the front door,

large green wreaths with bright red bows hung on the windows,

and snow dusted the house just in time for Christmas.

Inside lived the picture-perfect Ramsey family,

consisting of John Ramsey, his wife Patsy, and their two children, nine-year-old Burke,

and six-year-old John Bonae. But by December 26, 1996, the Ramsey house would be decorated with police tape,

and the white snow would be colored red with a glow of police sirens.

Inside were the shattered hearts of the Ramsey family and the body of young John Bonae.
