Summary

Please help me welcome a very special guest, Dr. Tsoukalas.

We’re going to discuss a new topic that I’m very interested in—we’re talking about metabolomics.

I haven’t shared my thoughts on this topic yet, but I believe it’s the future of medicine.

Dr. Tsoukalas is my trusted doctor, and he has evaluated my family and myself. He is very knowledgeable on the topic of metabolomics and trains doctors in this area.

Today, he’s going to share some of his knowledge with us and help us understand this new, incredible wave of the future.

Welcome back everyone. I have a very special guest today because I want to introduce you to something that I'm extremely

0:08.4

Interested in right now and this is a new topic.

0:13.2

I've never talked about it.

0:14.6

I've never done a video on it.

0:16.2

And so I want to slowly introduce you to this

0:18.9

because this is going to be the wave of the future for medicine and this is called metabolicics okay

0:28.5

metabolicics it's not a made-up word it's an actual thing. It's fairly new. And I'm going to be interviewing my doctor who actually evaluated me and who in my family and then I has very he's very credible. He's not just an MD but he has his PhD in Metabolomics.

Welcome doctor.

Thank you very much for the introduction and the good words. You're from

0:55.9

Greece and that's we're doing this remotely and so there's not a lot of doctors in America

1:02.0

that are doing this right now, but you're, you don't personally

1:06.1

do the evaluations anymore, but you have a team of doctors that do this, and so you actually

1:12.0

trained doctors on this, but let's first start out kind of telling people what is

1:17.5

metabolics?

1:18.5

Okay, metabolic is the suffix omics means the study of molecules with similar properties. So when we

1:26.8

apply that to genes we study it's genomics when we study proteomics and when we study the small molecules that

1:36.5

participate in the chemical reactions that keep us alive it's called metabolomics.

1:42.4

So metabolomics. So metabolomics, the discipline, the part of the science,

1:47.1

that is part of medicine, actually is the combination of biology and medicine that studies the small molecules that make all the human

1:57.6

reactions like energy structures the cells the the hormones, the metabolism of proteins, of glucose, of amino acids, and so on.

2:10.9

So if someone were to go to the doctor and get a just a regular blood
