| 0:09.0 | How's it going, Russell? Great to be back with another episode. |
| 0:12.0 | Yes, we are joined with a special guest today. His name is Detective J. Warner Wallace. Hello, J. How are you? |
| 0:20.0 | I'm so glad to be with you guys. Yeah, I'm doing good. It's easy to keep you. So David, do you call David Russell? |
| 0:28.0 | Is that what you do just to keep the difference between the two of you? Oh, yeah, we go. |
| 0:32.0 | Russell. Yeah, just like, yeah, just like law enforcement. I'm always called by my last name anyway. So it's like, you know, doing stuff like that. |
| 0:40.0 | But yeah, Jay, guys, Jay is a date line feature co-case detective author and speaker and senior fellow at the Colson Center for Christian World View and an adjunct professor of apologetics at Talbot School of Theology. |
| 0:56.0 | Is that right, Jay? |
| 0:58.0 | That's right. I was hoping I got that intro right there. Jay, why don't you tell us a little bit about yourself, you know, what you do, what your ministry is focused on and so on. |
| 1:08.0 | Yeah, I mean, I followed up my dad's footsteps. He was also a detective before me and my son now is a detective behind me. |
| 1:16.0 | And so for most part, we I worked on solving murders because we had a bunch of these going back to about 1972. |
| 1:24.0 | So I opened a bunch of them up and tried to solve them. And, you know, for most of my early career as a police officer, I was not a believer. |
| 1:34.0 | You know, I became a believer as a, as a really a result of this process, learning how to determine if a witness is reliable and then applying that test. |
| 1:47.0 | You know, you can't help but do that, right? I mean, I didn't know any of their way to analyze the gospel is when I first bought a Bible, I was 35. |
| 1:55.0 | And I think what we do is we end up taking whatever it is that we kind of are our process. If you're an engineer, you might have very analytic puzzling kind of a mind. |
| 2:05.0 | And so you're going to spend time puzzling like an engineer. By the way, we love engineers on juries. |
| 2:12.0 | So, so a lot of that was the only process I knew was to, and I kind of figured, but doesn't everybody have some way of like you wouldn't accept these claims of the New Testament without testing them, would you? |
| 2:23.0 | That made no sense to me. So I figured everyone must do something that's similar to this where they, where they test the documents or test the accounts to see if they're, if they're real or true. And that's what I tried to do with the skill set that I had as a cold case detective. |
| 2:37.0 | Right on. Yeah, you know, I can't express enough the your methodology in writing has really boosted the confidence in my faith. And I'm sure David as well, right, David? |
| 2:49.0 | Oh, yeah, I mean, for me personally, it was huge. Let's see, I started, I started questioning my faith. Let's see, probably about five, six years ago now. |
| 3:00.0 | And yeah, it came across movie gods not dead, too, which had. |
| 3:05.0 | Yeah, yeah, G Warner was featured in it. And so I picked up pretty much all I think you only had two books out at the time. Anyway, I picked them both up and cold case Christianity. That was huge for me, really just because I say that book, |
