I don't know why, but a lot of the television shows that I've been watching lately

0:14.4

have included a lot of funerals. I have seen, I swear in like three to four nights of television,

0:20.8

three to four different funerals from very different shows. of different

0:24.0

shows from different shows from different eras, different people, different ages,

0:28.0

and if you've listened to this podcast for a while,

0:32.0

you know that I love thinking about death I love

0:34.4

thinking about regret I love imagining myself at a ripe old age I hope I'm

0:38.6

lucky enough to get there and then pondering what 85-95-year-old me will think and feel.

0:46.5

And then, you know, really what happens from there when we abandon our physical form.

1:25.2

can be these grand affairs with lots of people or they can be maybe slightly more sad affairs

1:30.1

where there's just one or two people depending on how and where and the

1:34.6

circumstances of that the circumstances of that person's life. But observing

1:40.1

these funerals, right? You see them they they vary in how they appear, and then there's often a small gathering, right, or a big gathering depending on that person's life after the funeral.

And in one of the television shows that I was watching, there's a funeral, there's the wake, and then one man says to another man who was related to the woman who died, he said,

2:02.0

so have you thought about that deal yet? And he was talking about a business

2:06.3

deal that was in the mix that had clearly just hadn't been spoken about at the funeral or

2:12.0

prior because of this person's death. And this man said,

2:15.5

you're speaking about that now here? And he's like, yeah, of course. You know, life goes on. We've got a focus.
