In this podcast, Dr. Berg talks about the difference between white rice and brown rice. White rice is a refined product, they take the bran, germ, and husk away and strip it down to pure carbohydrate. Brown rice has more nutrition and is a lower glycemic index than white rice but both of them have a high glycemic index and not good for losing weight. The brown rice also has phytates which are very powerful antioxidants that preserve the rice. He also talks about phytates in the form of IP6 and arsenic in brown rice.

IP6 is one of the most powerful antioxidants and take it with an empty stomach a few times a week because if you take it with food it could chelate or take out some of the minerals.

Symptoms of Arsenic Poisoning:

• Headaches

• Drowsiness

• Confusion

• Metal Taste in Mouth

• Problem Swallowing

• Cramps in Muscle

• Hair Loss

recommending grains okay But that being said, let's just kind of go into the differences between both of these types, okay?

1:00.0

White rice is a refined product. They take the bran, the germ, the husk away, so you strip it down to like a pure

1:06.9

carbohydrate and it just so happens that all the vitamins, especially the B vitamins are in the

1:11.2

brand, the germ. Okay Okay so brown rice obviously has more

1:14.4

nutrition okay it's a little lower on the glycemic index and this is higher so

1:19.4

both of these are pretty high so they're not good for losing weight. Now the brown rice

1:26.6

also has phytates which are things that help preserve the rice.

1:32.6

They're very powerful antioxidants and they're kind of anti-nutrients because they tend to

1:36.7

keelate with other minerals.

1:38.4

But I like phytates in a supplement called IP6 and that supplement helps to lower iron.
