I love the word whimsy.

whimsy.

To me it feels like lightness and wonder and freedom

and nothing that's based in being logical or rational or responsible, whimsy.

The best life includes a little bit of whimsy, a little bit of romanticism, a little bit of energy that isn't just about getting it done, being so productive, making sure you're ticking off

that list at the end of each day.

Whimsie matters.

So let me give you an example of this. A friend of mine after being a

stay-home parent for a long time just started earning money. Right, she's earning money, she's really happy, she's kind of back at work, she's doing her

own thing independently and she's loving it, and it's almost as if, you know, the money flows easily because she's really good at what she does but because she's been on a budget right for the last decade or so

She doesn't really want to spend it right she's holding on to it and look there's a place for that right we want to be responsible with our money

Of course put money away for a rainy day etc.

Etc. Fefill our our responsibilities, but I said to her, now that you're making money, I have a rule that

5%, especially when you get nice chunks of money in your life, like maybe a new client or a new project or a bonus,

my rule is that 5%, right, so just say it's, I don't know, a thousand bucks, right?

10% is 100 bucks, 5% is 50 bucks.

Take that and spend it on something whimsical.

Not something that you'd buy anyway.

Not something that benefits others.

Not something that is a reasonable rational purchase, something whimsical. Maybe it's a beauty

product you'd never try, a clothing item you would never normally buy or spend on.
