I found myself kind of a little down of the dumps. Like, I am tired. I'm exhausted by all the

division out there and they're yelling at one another. And a lot of the times, my wildcard Wednesday,

I highlight those people. But today I'm going a little bit different. I needed some stuff

that either brought a smile to my face or made me laugh. So we'll start with this one. This does

neither. It kind of makes me laugh. It's Randy Weingarten. You guys know she's just my education

hero. She is the president of the American Teachers Federation, and she's continuing

to do what we've all said needs to stop, which is all this hyperbole about fascism and Hitler

and all the rest, white supremacy and all the things being bandied about. But Randy Weingarten went on TV and found

a way. I'll give her points for creativity to tell us about her lapel pins and why she's wearing them.

Let's just roll it. There is a reason why in Norway, when the Nazis took over Norway, that's why I'm wearing this paperclip.

I wear two things now. The American flag, nobody can take patriotism away from me and a paperclip.

What did the teachers in Norway do when there was a Nazi occupation?

They started wearing paperclips.

When there was a Nazi invasion, in, they started wearing paperclips. When there was a Nazi invasion in Norway, they started wearing paperclips.

That was their show of resistance against the Nazis.

So now Randy Weingarten's wearing one.

And this is why I have a really hard time accepting her idea of patriotism.

The kids are our future. The kids are who she supposedly cares about, but she doesn't because nothing's going really well in public education

right now. Again, we leave the room for exceptions. There are some great teachers and great

schools out there.
