Aloha and welcome back to Amen podcast. I'm Lockelaani and today we're diving into a shocking moment in the

trial of Jesus. Picture this. A crowd is standing in front of Pilot and he gives them a choice between

two men, both named Jesus. One is a murderer and a rebel. The other is the Messiah. In Pilate asks them one simple question,

which one do you want? It seems like an easy choice, right? But the crowd chooses the criminal

and rejects the Savior. So here's the question we need to ask ourselves today. Which Jesus

do we want? Let's get into it. We're in Matthew chapter 27 looking at verses 15 through 18.

Amen. Now at the feast of the governor was accustomed to release for the crowd any prisoner whom they wanted.

At the time, they were holding a notorious prisoner called

Barabbas. So when the people gathered together, Pilate said to them,

whom do you want me to release to you, Barabbas or Jesus who is called to Christ? For he knew

that it was because of envy that they delivered him over. In the earliest manuscripts, a lot of them

include another name for Barabbas. And it's actually the name

Jesus. And so in a lot of those manuscripts, it'll say Jesus Barabbas and Pilate asks, which one do you

want me to release to you? Jesus Barabbas or Jesus called the Christ. And even more interesting,

the word Barabbis means son of a father, son of a father.

And that's interesting because Jesus is, you know,

the real Jesus, Jesus Christ, he is son of the father.

But there's other, like other differences and maybe some similarities

between the two people.

But it's as if Pilot in this famous scene

that we've all heard about, we've heard songs about it,

we've heard sermons about it.
