Hey everybody, this is Rob Leifeld. Welcome to another edition of Rob Observations. I hope you're

doing well. We are going to jump right into this with a topic that I think never falls out of

favor in any category, in any, really in any genre, in any business and and especially in the world of sports

no you have not accidentally jumped into a sports podcast but so much of what's going on in the

world of sports today uh especially right now as the NBA enters the playoffs is we'll call it

trash talking beefing okay players beefing with each

other calling each other out let's just wrap it all up into rivalries it's rivalries earlier

this week in a recent podcast i mentioned the fact that AT&T is now letting go of its Warner Brothers media content and giving it to

Discovery Channel for them to, you know, handle and manage here on out.

It's been called a merger, really what it is.

If you read behind the headlines, as so many of them have, they have dumped it into discovery.

They don't want any part of that. Their stock went up as a result because they're competitive.

It's part of rivalries. AT&T is competitive with Comcast, who is competitive with Disney and Apple

and, you know, Microsoft.

I mean, you guys, rivalries drive so much of what we do.

But the particular rivalry that got my attention this week is not a sports one. It comes from the world of anime.

And specifically the Japanese animation that has just taken everybody by surprise

not surprised, taken everybody by storm

is the worldwide global success of Demon Slayer.

Demon Slayer was even, I mean, it made a giant studio multi, you know, $100 million budget film

Mortal Kombat.

It made it sweat.

...
