Well, today we're going to answer that question.

We're looking at 2 Peter chapter 1 versus 20 through 21. So get out your Bibles and follow

Before we dig into 2nd Peter once again, I invite you to pray with me.

Our Father, we want to understand your word and we want to understand where it came from and why it's trustworthy.

So Lord, God, give us insight today, open our hearts to receive what we hear, and enable us to use it to bolster our faith with confidence and with strength

that comes from you. We ask it in Jesus' name. Amen. Okay, 2nd Peter chapter 1,

verses 20 through 21. Peter is explaining all the things he has seen and heard as an eyewitness of Jesus.

He's just expressed in the previous verse how he himself received confirmation of the prophetic

words that told about Jesus and actually received prophecies of his own, his own kinds of

revelation from God.

And here he goes on and says, knowing this, first of all, that no prophecy of

scripture comes from someone's own interpretation. For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man.

But men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.
