And what kinds of stories do you normally report? How do you characterize your work for people that are not familiar with it?

Oh my God. I still don't have a great answer to this question.

Sometimes when you tell people you're a writer, or I don't even say journalist, although maybe technically, they thank you for the good work that you do, and I always have to say, oh, I don't do that kind of stuff. So I don't do anything important. I get to do fun stories about whatever.

This is a ruse. Katie doesn't actually do fun stories about whatever. She pretends to.
