This is our opportunity for this day to get our minds aligned with the truth of God's

Word.

Today we'll be doing that by looking at John chapter 1 verses 4 through 5.

Before we get there, I want to ask you to think about the mystery of what we call life.

I mean there's a life in different things, in plants, in animals, in people, and there's

a mystery there as to how something can actually have life. We're going to be talking about that today.

And I want to ask you if you are on a journey of knowing Jesus more deeply, if you might need

Alright friends, let's go back to this mystery of life subject matter. You know, I mentioned

there's different kinds of life, plant life, bacteria, animals, humans. But there is a big difference

when you talk about humans in terms of life as opposed to everything else because humans have

what we call sentience. It means we're self-aware, we're self-conscious. There's a kind of life

that is possessed by human beings that is different from any other form of life on the planet.

John chapter 1 verses 4 through 5, I believe you're going to give us some insight into this.

It says in him in Jesus was life and the life was the light of men. Now notice it doesn't say

animals, doesn't say plants or bacteria. It says men, mankind. Verse 5 says the light shines in
