So it's been a while. I think the last time I published was sometime in February and I don't know I feel like you deserve like an explanation for where I've been.

0:12.7

Long time listeners of the show know that every year I try to do a,

0:16.8

kind of like an annual review,

0:18.5

but I try to time it around my birthday.

0:21.2

Because I see the birthday as the new year. I see it as a real moment to try and just

0:28.3

reflect on where you've been in the last year, what you've done, who you've been, who you've been spending your time with, and look ahead

0:38.8

at which of those choices you want to continue going forward.

0:43.4

What does the next year of your life look like?

0:47.1

I'll be honest, that's kind of the only reason I'm publishing today.

0:51.1

Originally, I wasn't going to publish until maybe August. As my birthday was approaching and I started thinking about the last year and the last seven years of this podcast and what I want to do next and where I want to go,

1:27.2

could simplify the process of self-improvement. It would cut through all of the like BS around self-improvement.

1:36.7

It would cut to just the practical stuff and focus there. And I think I accomplished that. I think that so far this podcast has been very practical and has been very hands on and focused on what can you actually do right now that might have a measurable difference, maybe immediately or maybe in a few years.

1:59.8

And I've always been focused on making sure that those recommendations are framed

2:09.6

appropriately. So I've never once said do this and it's going to change your life overnight or at least I don't believe I have

2:18.3

What I have said is do this and it you might feel better pretty quickly you might see some kind of result or

2:26.0

outcome pretty quickly but you also might not it might take 10 years and you need to

2:31.3

decide are you comfortable investing 10 years into making this change.

2:37.0

And I think when we expand the timeline we look at things in a 10-year timeline, I think what it does is it helps us to really prioritize

2:49.2

is this change even that important to me?

2:51.8

Do I want to spend the next 10 years working at this with very little if any benefit coming from it?
