There is always going to be that sense of mystery. I think we need to recognize that there

are certain unknowables, you know, just in terms of our empirical ability to do any kind

of research on them. And so that mystery and all is going to be there. But that mystery

and all does not necessarily validate the explanation from a key perspective.

If we have such a narrow view of nature that we want to explain everything deterministically

by reference to underlying physics and chemistry and that there's nothing else except things

that are going on at that level, ultimately, then I think we get a very impoverished view

of reality which makes it impossible to pursue the kind of project that Saleem is pursuing.
