This morning I was thinking about the word wisdom.

How blessed is the man who finds wisdom and the man who gains understanding, for its profit is better than the profit is silver,

and its gain than fine gold.

She's more precious than jewels and nothing you desire compares with her.

There's such a thing as wisdom literature, and those words that just came to my mind come from a reservoir of wisdom

literature. And I'm sitting in the home of a family that is devoted to wisdom literature.

A family committed to reading a chapter of Proverbs every single day.

And by the way, a habit that has passed down through the family.

In other words, to children who are engaged with wisdom literature.

I think of the very first chapter of Proverbs, which tells us that wisdom actually

shouts in the street.

She lists her voice in the noisy square.

She utters her sayings, how long, oh, naive ones, will you love simplicity and scoffers delight themselves in scoffing, and fools hate knowledge.

Turn to my reproof. i will pour out my spirit on you i'll make my words known to you because i called and you refused i stretched out my hand and no one paid attention

and you neglected all my counsel and spurned all my reproof.

So I will even laugh at your calamity.

So here we have wisdom, laughing at calamity, mocking at dread.
